Thank you for checking in. We both know you and Chloe are always on top of things and do appreciate your diligence - it seems sometimes you worry about things as much or more than we do, but yes, we were both there last Friday for Ashley's 25th week Visit with the OB and heard the same info- normal heartbeat. We will be there for her MEM visit on Monday, and we also pray for things to lock normal. Joyce and I continue to have weekly check-ins with Ashley for quick calls - usually no more than 5 minutes or so to see how she and her family are doing. Last week we Zelled" her a small monetary contribution for her and Layne to celebrate Father's Day weekend, such as getting ice cream for the kids or having a nice meal together as a family. We are amazed at her maturity for her age and being a "supermom" juggling work, kids, and the surrogacy journey. Thank you both again for your support and for being there with us on the journey. When I first looked into surrogacy, I never imagined how much this journey would impact my life. I simply knew I had healthy pregnancies and wanted to help someone else experience the joy of becoming parents.
From the moment I met my intended parents, I knew we had been matched for a reason. Watching them experience every milestone from ultrasounds to hearing their son's heartbeat, made this journey so much more meaningful. Their excitement and love for their little boy was evident every step of the way.
Throughout my pregnancy, I never felt like what I was doing was anything extraordinary. To me, I was just carrying a baby for parents who couldn't do it themselves. But the moment he was born and I saw the pure joy on the parent's faces, everything changed. Seeing them become dads in that instant made me realize I had truly made a difference in someone's lives. It was, without a doubt, the most incredible thing I've ever done.
People often ask what it was like to hand the baby over after delivery. The truth is, there was never a moment where it felt like I was 'giving him away.' He was always their son, my role was simply to help bring him safely into their arms, and being able to witness that moment was an honor I'll cherish forever.

I actually called the OB's office and spoke with a nurse earlier today. just to get a better understanding of how common this is and their thoughts on why it might have happened.
Christine mentioned to me earlier in the week that she noted on her forms that Scott or I could call the office and speak to someone if we had any questions, which we really appreciate.
Just as the text mentioned, the nurse assured me that everything looked good and both baby and Christine seemed to be just fine. Christine couldn't have handled the situation any better, and we continue to be so very grateful to be working with such a strong, capable, and thoughtful partner in this journey.
